Charles "Chuck" Edmund Rock , 79 of Zanesville died Saturday morning, January 13, 2018 at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born on September 27, 1938 in Zanesville OH the son of the late Charles Clarence Rock and Agnes Armbrust Rock.
Chuck was owner and operator of the Rock Sohio gas station in South Zanesville. He was employed with Halliburton for 30 years and after that he was employed as a Sales representative at sears in the Lawn & Garden and Tools department. He is a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a graduate of Rosecrans High School, member of The Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and many oil and gas associations.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee (Schramm) Rock, Children: Todd (Michelle) Rock, Keely (Dana) Matz, Eric (Jacque) Rock, Kyle (Maria) Rock, Dustin (DeAnn) Rock, Teresa (Darin) Jordan, Tristan Rock, Ashleigh Rock; Grandchildren; Abbey (Brandon) Bates, Dakota (Rachel) Matz, Cheyenne Matz, Misty (Eric) Gabriel, Kilie Rock, Kassidy Rock, Kade “Kabe” Rock, Ryder Rock, Rayna Rock; Great-grandkids; Cohen Bates, Whillow Matz, Dylan Bates; Sister-n-law, Shirley Stadler; his nieces and nephew, his forever loving furry friend and sleeping buddy, Duncan; special friends; Eric Gaumer, Brent Harper, Christy and Jim Watson.
Chuck was preceded in death by a very dear friend, Louis Altier; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Albert Schramm; a brother, John Rock and his brother-n-law, Walter Stadler.
Friends may call 5:00 PM To 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday January 18th with Fr. Martin Ralko officiating.
Burial will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
