Cynthia "Cindy" Louise Harp , 67 of Zanesville died Friday, June 2, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born August 26, 1949 in Hammond, IN and is the fourth of nine children born of William Montgomery Schaefer and Donna Will (Brown) Schaefer.
Cindy managed the mailroom at Muskingum College for over 20 years before relocating as the mailroom supervisor at Capital University in Columbus Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her family and pets. She was especially close to her sister Carol and her mother, assisting and caring for them for several years. Since her retirement she enjoyed shopping, technology and working on her home.
In addition to her mother, Donna Schaefer of Utah, she is survived by a daughter, Tina (Joe Hargrove) Lavy of Zanesville; grandsons Dana (Jenna) Lavy and Brady Lavy; and great granddaughter Rowan Lavy; brothers, William (Roberta) Schaefer, James Schaefer, John (Kathryn) Schaefer; sisters, Christine (Abe) Rosenburg, Cherie (Brian) Wheeler, Celeste (Larry) Tolman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father and sisters, Cathy (Bruce) Longstroth, and Carol Schaefer.
Friends may call 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. with funeral service to immediately follow at 6:00 PM.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society.
