Jane Stiers Swanson, 83, of Zanesville died peacefully Monday morning, October 16, 2017 at her home under hospice care.
She was born July 31, 1934 in Adamsville the daughter of Addison and Helen (Daily) Stiers.
Jane graduated from Muskingum College with a degree in Psychology and was a member of Chi Alpha Nu Sorority. She was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church and Zanesville Women. Jane enjoyed entertaining family and numerous friends in her home and sharing her passion for cooking and decorating with them. She made everyone feel at home.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Edwin O Swanson whom she married in 1956, three daughters: Amy (John) Weals, Suzanne (Robert) Hughes, and Rebecca (Edward) Swierz Jr. Jane is preceded in death by her sister Winifred L. Stiers and survived by her sister, Mary Jean Walker, of Zanesville, five grandchildren: Abby (Mitchell) Beard, Gregory (Autumn) O’Dell, Nathan Hughes, Joseph Swierz and Samuel Swierz. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 19th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. where funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 20th. A “Celebration of Life” gathering and burial will take place at a later date.
The Swanson Family wants to give a special thanks to friends, health care professionals, fellow church members, and the Genesis hospice staff who provided great comfort and support.
Memorial contributions can be made to Central Presbyterian Church, Genesis Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
