Robert "Mac" Nelson MacLean, 78, of Zanesville passed at 10:44 A.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at his home.
He was born on Friday, June 1, 1945 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Nelson H. MacLean and Bonnie Jean Rambo MacLean.
Robert graduated from Maysville High School class of 1963. He joined the U.S. Air Force right out of high school in 1963. Robert was stationed at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota as a MP. After active duty, Robert attended Spartan School of Aeronautics to get his pilot license. Robert retired from Oxford Oil. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Peerless Lodge #591 Crooksville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.
He is survived by his wife whom he married March 10, 1972, Patricia Lipps MacLean; two children, Michael J. (Julia) MacLean and Jennifer (Michael) Gamble; four grandchildren, Jaclyn (Joshua) Kohler, Johnathan (Sarah) MacLean, Parker Reid and Madison (Connor) Westhoven; two great grandchildren, Gracie Reid and Cameron Kohler; a brother James "Jim" MacLean; many nieces and nephews; and his two loving dogs, Gertie and Annie.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son Matthew W. MacLean; and a brother, Ronald L. MacLean.
Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Roberts name to Hospice of Central Ohio 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
