Barb had a very deep faith; she was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Graduated from Rosecrans High School and the Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She started her long, proud nursing career as an office nurse for Dr. Dominic Brune. Moving on to Good Samaritan Medical Center where she worked for 35 years as a nurse, manager, director of marketing and occupational health until the merger of the two hospitals. She then went to work for Genesis as a Physician Recruiter and was in charge of Physician Services for 13 years until her retirement in 2008.
Barb was very active in her community. Serving on the United Way Board of Directors, Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce, served 7 years as Chair/co-chair for the Wilds annual fundraiser, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA and Pilots Club. She was an active member of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing Alumni and recipient of the Josephine Phillips Health Care Award.
Barb’s love for life and family was evident in everything she did. Such a positive spirit she always saw the good in everything, knowing her was a treasure. She was the one you called if you needed anything. She always knew the answer and got the job done. She cherished her family especially her grandchildren, making every day special and never missing an event or milestone.
Barb leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Greg; her children, Greg (Lori) Finan and Julie (Kenny) Gray; 3 grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Gray and Emily Finan; several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Rosta, Samuel Rosta, Angelo Rosta and her sister Mary Rosta.
