Calvin "Dutch" E. Lay, 91 of Zanesville died at 8:52 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Primrose Retirement Community.
He was born on Monday, June 28, 1926 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio the son of James R. Lay and Blanche Fullmer Lay.
Calvin was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church since 1960 and retired from Sears after nearly 30 years of service. He especially enjoyed fishing & was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Calvin is survived by his twin sons; Patrick (Tyna) Lay & Michael (Mary) Lay; his daughters, Tami (Bill) Mitchell and Karen (Brad) Starkey; 16 Grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary (Wayne) McHenry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jean Daringer Lay; a sister, Maxine Ulrich; and a brother, Byron Lay.
Friends may call 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday May 18th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 19th with Pastor Cody Updegrave officiating. Burial will conclude at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
