Debra “Debi” Kay Smith, 64, of Nashport passed away at 2:20 PM Friday, April 20, 2018 at The James Cancer Center, Columbus Ohio.
She was born on Monday, February 08, 1954 in Zanesville Ohio the daughter of Donald Wayne and Helen Louise Lemmon Clark.
Debi was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nashport, Ohio. A 1972 graduate of Zanesville High School and went on to get her Bachelor’s degree at Ohio University. Debi was a member Women’s Republican Club, Y-City Harley Owners Group, Catholic Social Services Board. Was a past member of the Lion’s Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a certified American Heart Association instructor, a Thai-Chi instructor, and a teacher at Zane State. She retired from the Muskingum County Center for Seniors where she worked as a Supportive Service Director and an Adult Protective Service worker. She enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, hiking, biking, kayaking and all outdoor activities.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband P. Michael Smith, whom she married June 30, 1972; a son David Michael (Amber) Smith; two grandchildren Miles David and Scarlet Amelia; a brother Donnie K. (Cindy) Clark; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, several cousins and her baby girl Anna, beloved pet.
Debi was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
She will be missed dearly by numerous family and friends.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 with Fr. Don Franks officiating.
