Mary "Maria" Angelina Abella

Mary "Maria" Angelina Abella, 90, of Columbus passed at 10:41 AM Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born January 24, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Angelo and Rosa Abella.

Mary was employed for many years at the Bron-Shoe Company in Columbus. She was a devoted Roman Catholic and attended Mass daily until her health declined.  She attended numerous Catholic churches in Columbus. Before moving to Columbus she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Zanesville.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews:  Emmett Abella, Angie Abella, David Fluharty, Tommy Hardwick, Jack Hardwick, David Abella, Sarah Heskett, Mary Frances Abella,  Michael Abella, Vashti Miller, Tomlyn Jay Moore, Thomas Joseph Abella, Beverly Kleinknecht, Rose Marie Abella, brother-in-law Loren Border and numerous great nieces and great nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Abella, Phillip Abella, Peter Abella, and Thomas Abella; Sisters, Angelina Abella, Frances Abella Border, Joan Abella Hardwick, Jenny Abella Bozman and several nieces & nephews. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Rev. JCP Sullivan officiating. Burial will conclude at the Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 High St, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
