Phyllis J. (Angel) Karling, 79 of Zanesville died at 3:40 PM February 22, 2021 at the Adams Lane Care Center.
She was born June 30, 1941 in Dover, Ohio the daughter of Donald Angel and Helen (Karns) Angel.
Phyllis was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church and was the Executive Director of the Tuscarawas County Senior Center for 13 years, where she was responsible for planning & building the new Senior Center located in Dover Ohio. She was an avid card player, enjoyed golf, traveling to the beach, her favorite being Myrtle Beach and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Chuck” A. Karling; 3 sons, Scott (Vicki) Karling, Bryan (Allison) Karling and Kevin Karling; 6 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 3 great grandsons, and a great granddaughter; also twin great grandchildren (a boy & a girl) on the way; 4 siblings, David (Betty) Angel, Patricia "Patsy" (Frank) Ellwood, Donald "Donny" (Karen) Angel and Holly (Doug) Klar; and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a son Brett Karling, and a brother, Duane Angel.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 20th at the Dover Burial Park, Dover OH.
Memorial contributions can be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Coburn United Methodsit Church.
