Raymond L. Rutter, 87 of Zanesville passed away surrounded by his family at 4:30 P.M. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Genesis Hospital while under Hospice Care.
He was born on Saturday, November 08, 1930 in Dresden, Ohio the son of the late Elmer A. and Esther F. Graves Rutter.
Raymond is a Korean Conflict Army Veteran. He was a member of the Eagles 302, Masonic Lodge 103, American Veterans Club, and a life member of the NRA, VFW Post 1058, and American Legion Post 399. He retired from Armco Steel after 41 years. He enjoyed target shooting, golfing, hunting, bowling, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife Helen Rutter, whom he married 65 years ago on July 5, 1952 in Dresden, OH; a grandson, Austin L. Rutter of Zanesville; a sister Lola (Bill) F. Ripple of Dresden, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a son Thomas L. Rutter.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jesse Wilson officiating. Burial will conclude at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
