Richard "Dick" Eugene Church

Richard "Dick" Eugene Church, 79, of Zanesville passed at 10:40 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Genesis Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 28, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Bernard Wilson Church and Betty Jean Steinman Church.
Dick was a member of First Christian Church where he served as an elder. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and he was a graduate of Tri Valley High School. Dick attended Ohio University where he graduated with a degree in engineering. He worked for several companies including Racine Hydraulics in Zanesville and then later in his career retired from Parker Hannifin as an engineer in the hydraulic division of the company. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, driving his corvette, golf and spending time with family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married December 22, 2012, Patricia "Trish" Ann Stillings Church; his children, Kimberly Sue "Kim" (Mike McClary) Lane, David (Jane) Church and Susan (Wes) Pickens; grandchildren, David "DJ" Church Jr., Chastity Kennedy, Allison (Kyle) Dale, Kimberly Kennedy, Andrew Church & Austin Church; 5 great grandchildren; Step-children, Renee Jones, Sean Leace, Susan (Phil)Reimer & Matt Church and 4 step-grandchildren; Siblings, Ronald (Helen) Church, Randy (Cynthia) Church and Kathy (Jeff) Schadt; sister-in-law, Kathy Church and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a brother Roger Church.
Friends may call 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Noon on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where Military honors will take place at 12:00 P.M. followed by a closing prayer led by Rev. Dawn Remster.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Christ's Table.
