Robert “Bud” Brent Tague, 79 of Zanesville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Monday, March 29th, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born May 9, 1941 in Zanesville Ohio. He attended and graduated from Rosecrans High school. This is where he met the love of his life Sally.
Bud and Sally have been together 63 years and married 59 of those. They have both said over the years they have been the best years.
Bud was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and loved all kinds of sports and played many throughout his life, but his favorite past times were not only spending time with his family but he loved walking his dogs over the past years. His faithful friend Will is going to miss his daily walks with him. He also enjoyed watching OSU football, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in a league with friends in the summer.
He retired from Applied Technologies in 2007 and before that he worked at Genesis Hospital in security for 13 years.
Bud and Sally married on Nov. 6 1961, they lived in Dayton for a short period before moving to Lancaster where they lived for several years. They moved back to Zanesville to finish raising their family and have lived here for the past 43 years.
He loved to travel out West to Montana and Wyoming; he always said there is nothing prettier than the mountains.
Bud leaves behind his wife of 59 years Sally Joyce (Kendrick) Tague, 3 daughters Theresa (Keith) Riggle of Zanesville Ohio, Karen (Darrell) Still of Big Sandy Texas, Melissa (Bradley) Lovejoy of Belmont Ohio; a son, Robert Brent Tague II and (Cindy Lenhart) of Zanesville Ohio; a sister, Paula Cherrington; Grandchildren, Shannon Messmer of Grandview Ohio, Andrew Riggle of Zanesville Ohio, Bo LaFollette of St. Paris Ohio, Shay LaFollette of Bradford Ohio, Kendall, MyKenzie Lovejoy of Zanesville Ohio and Baylee Lovejoy of Belmont Ohio; Great Grandchildren, Mattie, Riley, Adyson and Blake Messmer, Gunner Kimble, Bradley and Taylynn Clapper; and several nieces and newphews.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Dorothy (Shields) Wilson, Stepfather John W. Wilson, daughter Mary Elizabeth and granddaughter Mariah LaFollette.
Per his wishes, a caring cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, April 2nd, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville Ohio.
