Steven Douglas Wheeler, 51 of Newark died at 1:12 P.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital.
Steve was born May 28, 1970 in Zanesville Ohio the son of Clarence "Hud" Wheeler and Bonita Edwards Wheeler.
He was a 1988 Graduate of John Glenn High School, worked at Rockwell/Meritor for 27 years and was currently employed at AEP for 3 years. Steve was a proud member of UAW and IBEW respectfully. He was a longtime member of Old Trail Hunt club where he was currently serving as the president. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Malta #118, the Ohio Taxidermy Association, NWTF and the NRA. Steve graduated from Zane State College in 2017 with an associates of applied science electrical/electronics engineering technology. He had several hobbies including, taxidermy, hunting and fishing, he loved the outdoors and could fix anything.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his five children, Jordan M. Wheeler, Audrey N. Wheeler, Brooklyn R. Wheeler, Mary S. Graham and Melanie D. Graham; two grandchildren, Kamrie and Ayla; his bestfriend/Lover, Danielle Graham; two siblings, Diana (Doug) Davis and Brian (Rosie) Wheeler; nieces and nephews, Kassidy, Delilah, Hudson, Ian, Lyra and Trey; and his extended family, the Ronald Dean Painter family.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Helen Wheeler; and maternal grandparents, Donald and June Edwards, and Danielle’s twins, April D. & Mary D. Graham.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Masonic Services at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will conclude at the St. Paul Cemetery.
