Velma “Jean” Bunker, 86, of Zanesville passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at her home.
She was born on Tuesday, April 12, 1932 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Richard and Lula Sowers.
Jean was a member of Central Trinity Methodist Church. She worked at Brockway glass for 25 years. She went to the Muskingum County Senior Center and enjoyed taking photos there. Collector of knick-knacks, angel dolls and stuffed animals. Known for being a great hugger.
She is survived by a son Russell Dunn Jr. of Zanesville; Step-sons, Duane (Diane) Bunker, Romney (Bev) Bunker of Zanesville; Step-daughters, Yvonne Grear of Zanesville, Veta Welsh of Zanesville, Andrea (Mike) Finan; Several Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother Richard Sowers and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bunker; a sister Dolores Brock; a step-son, Perry Bunker, and great-grandson Austin Wisecarver.
Friends may call 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral home, where funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 with Pastor Steve Judson and Tom England officiating. Burial will conclude at the St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
